The blood pressure chart

And how to interpret your numbers.
1

Once you know your numbers, you can use the blood pressure chart to see what they mean and if your blood pressure is in the healthy range.

This chart is a copy of the UK chart and is suitable for adults of any age, as the cut-off point for diagnosing high blood pressure doesn’t change with age.

How to use the blood pressure chart

Find your top number (systolic) on the left side of the chart and your bottom number (diastolic) on the bottom. Where the two lines meet is your blood pressure.

🩺 Understanding Your Blood Pressure Numbers

Your blood pressure is a key indicator of your overall health. Even if just one of the numbers is too high or too low, it could signal a problem. Here’s how to interpret your reading:

📉 90/60 mmHg or Lower
You may have low blood pressure. This isn’t always serious, but if you’re experiencing symptoms like dizziness or fainting, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor.

✅ Between 90/60 and 120/80 mmHg
This is considered ideal and healthy. Keep it in this range by following a balanced diet, staying active, and managing stress.

⚠️ Between 120/80 and 140/90 mmHg
Your blood pressure is slightly high. While still in the normal range, it’s a sign to start making healthy lifestyle changes to avoid future health risks.

Greater than 140/90

Keep records and get a professional evaluation.
